Interview with Karen Clanton
Q: What is your name?
A: Karen Clanton
Q: How long have you been crocheting?
A: Since I was little and could pick up a hook off and on
Q: How did you learn to crochet?
A: My mother and grandmother
Q: What are your favorite things to crochet?
A: I crochet a lot of different things but mostly Amigurumis and graphghans
Q: How much time do you spend crocheting in an average week?
A: Not as much as I use to because I graph and orders take a lot of my time
Q: What was the most challenging crochet technique to learn?
A: There are so many I don’t know still I’d love to learn. I think that making my Amigurumi is pretty hard to figure out the shapes and making them as perfect as I can.
Q: What do you find most rewarding about crocheting?
A: People faces and their comments like how did you do that.
Q: What would you really like to crochet that you have not yet made?
A: My latest was the chevron pattern. I’ve always seen them around in my grandparents home and wanted to make one.
Q: Do you crochet for Family, Friends, Business, a combination, or other?
A: I do for all the above: family, friends, business.
Q: If you have a business what is the name of your Crochet Business?
A: KBCritters and Crafts
Q: Do you sell finished work, patterns or both?
A: Both
Q: What type of items do you sell in your shop?
A: Graphs, Ami patterns, clay charms, and art
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: I started my page in 2013
Q: Do you have a website or etsy to share so we can check out your work?
Q: Do you have social media sites for your crochet?
Q: Who is your favorite Crochet Designer(s)?
A: I don’t have a favorite at the moment because I write my own patterns
Q: Do you do any other type of crafts like knitting, sewing, etc?
A: yes I do I cross stitch, bead, clay, crochet, knit , draw, paint, and a lot more
Q: What other activities do you enjoy?
A: I don’t really get out much and have a heart condition so I can’t do much
Q: What are your current WIPs or how many do you have?
A: I try not to have more than one wip at a time, but just making patterns is on my list
Q: Anything else you’d like to share about yourself or your business?
A: I do take orders and I love what I do so everything is made with love. And I love to make people happy.
