Row 17: Ch 1, sl st in each st across, (36 sl st). Do not FO. Continue with Finishing Side Pockets to attach to Sidekick Base.
FINISHING SIDE POCKETS:
STEP 1: Line up beginning chain of pocket with top or bottom edge of base. Use stitch markers to hold the corners together. Line up the top edge of pocket with top of R16/bottom of R34 of base. Use stitch markers to hold the other top corner of pocket in place with edge of R16/R34 of base. I use locking stitch markers or sewing clips that easily hold the 2 pieces together while stitching.
STEP 2: Use working yarn from pocket panel. Working down the side, place 20 sc evenly down to the corner, working each st through both pocket and base.
STEP 3: Work along bottom/top edge, place 3 sc in 1st st to form corner, sc in next 34 sts, 3 sc in last st to form corner. Make sure each st is worked through both pocket + base.
STEP 4: Working back up other side, evenly place 20 sc up to the top of the pocket. Making sure each st is worked through both pocket and base. FO and weave in ends. (80 sc total). Repeat for the other pocket panel on the other end of base.
STITCH REMOTE SIDE 3-POCKET:
STEP 1: Mark the 13th st from each edge of the pocket panel (R1 + R16), and use a stitch marker to attach to the base. Cut 2 lengths of yarn, approximately 24 inches. Use the yarn to stitch the pocket panel and base together to form 3 pockets, working from each of the marked stitches to the bottom of the pocket.
STEP 2: Stitch in a line working from R17 – R1 of the pocket. For extra stability you may want to use a back stitch – where you work up the line of stitches a second time, working in the spaces in between the prior stitches. Repeat for both marked stitches to form 3 pockets. FO and weave in ends.
STITCH TABLET SIDE 2-POCKET:
STEP 1: Mark the center/between 18th/19th st of pocket panel (R1 + R16), and use a stitch marker to attach to the base. Cut a length of yarn, approximately 24 inches. Use the yarn to stitch the pocket panel and base together to form 2 pockets, working from each of the marked stitches to the bottom of the pocket.
STEP 2: Stitch in a line working from R17 – R1 of the pocket. For extra stability you may want to use a back stitch – where you work up the line of stitches a second time, working in the spaces in between the prior stitches. FO and weave in ends.
TOP POCKET: (Make 1)
Row 1: Ch 17, sc in 2nd ch from hook, and each ch across, turn, (16 sc).
Rows 2-6: Ch 1, esc in each st across, turn, (16 esc, 5 rows).
Row 7: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 7 xdc across, dc in last st, turn, (2 dc, 7 xdc).
Row 8: Ch 1, esc in each st across, turn, (16 esc).
Rows 9-14: Repeat Rows 7-8, (16 sts, 6 rows).
Row 15: Ch 1, sl st in each st across, (16 sl st). FO, leaving at least a 36-40 inch tail to stitch pocket to Sidekick Base.
STITCH TOP/PHONE POCKET:
STEP 1: Place pocket with beginning chain lined up with one edge of the base, centered over R20-30, and use stitch markers to hold it in place on the base at each corner. Use the yarn tail to stitch the pocket panel and base together along the side, bottom, and other side of the pocket. FO and weave in ends.
