About the Winter Washcloth Series Blog Hop
How it Works:
The Winter Washcloth Series is a fun Follow-Along event that runs from January 1st – January 31st, 2024, hosted by the amazing Michelle of Two Brothers Blankets! Washcloths are quick to make, great for gifts, and can be a fun way to learn new stitches and techniques! Each day in January 2024, a new crochet pattern for the Winter Washcloth Blog Hop will be released on a different designer’s blog for FREE. There will be a total of 31 squares with a different theme – making each design unique.
New to the world of blog hops? No sweat – it’s a piece of cake! Imagine it as a virtual scavenger hunt where you’ll uncover fresh designers to follow and get free patterns along the way. Simply “hop” from one blog to another, gathering the details of each free pattern. In this fun and easy process, you play a crucial role in helping to support each designer, while at the same time, enjoying the perks of receiving awesome, free crochet patterns.
Here’s how it works:
- Each day, the new featured pattern for the day will appear on the Winter Washcloth Series Blog Post. That new washcloth pattern will be free for 24 hours. From 8am EST to 8am EST the next day.
- You will go to the linked post and scroll down to the days featured pattern. There, you will get instructions on how to get the free pattern download. Sometimes it will be a coupon code for Ravelry, and other times it will be an easy direct download. Easy!
- Then, you will click the link that will take you to the designer’s website, where you will either get the link to Ravelry or download the pattern right from their site.
- From there you will download the pattern to your device or library for free!

What to Do With So Many Crochet Washcloths?
Gifting a handmade washcloth with a yummy bar of handcrafted soap or expensive natural wash – makes a fantastic self-care gift idea. And wash cloths are very well-received at baby showers too, especially as part of a thoughtful gift basket.
When you can color coordinate with your home, washcloths make charming additions to your kitchen or bathroom decor And of course they’re incredibly practical. With the right yarn, these washcloths become your go-to solution for cleaning up messes, wiping spills, tackling dirty pots and pans, and the best part – they are machine washable and dryer-friendly!
I can personally vouch for the durability of crochet dish cloth patterns and crochet washcloths I crafted years ago; they’re still going strong in my kitchen and bathroom. Such as the Donut Cloth, April Showers Cloth, Flora Dish Cloth, Sweet Stripes Cloth, and my latest Hopscotch Cloth .
The longevity and utility of these quick crochet projects are truly remarkable. Beyond personal use, I’ve discovered the joy of sharing this practical artistry by gifting sets of 3 or 4 washcloths. Folding them with care and tying a bow around them adds a touch of handmade elegance, making them delightful presents for any occasion. Of course Mother’s Day is coming up!!
