Hello Friends! I am thrilled to bring you another awesome Free Crochet Pattern! I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year! The last few months of 2017 were a whirlwind of busyness for me, and I am sorry I wasn’t able to keep posting consistently. I am very excited to be back to blogging and pattern designing! What better way to welcome the New Year than with the first Free Crochet Pattern of 2018 – the Sweet Stripes Circle Scarf!

I designed the Sweet Stripes Circle Scarf Pattern using the awesome new Red Heart Super Saver Stripes yarn! I just love this beautiful colors of this self striping yarn. You could definitely use a solid or make your own stripes too if you prefer. So many ways to make this cowl your own!

The Sweet Stripes Circle Scarf is easy to customize to get just the right fit! You can add or subtract length from your finished scarf by simply creating more or fewer initial Foundation Single Crochets or Chains, in multiples of four! Change the height by adding additional repeats of Rounds 2 and 3! That’s it, so simple to get your perfect look and fit. Don’t forget to make one in lots of colors to match every outfit! SWEET STRIPES CIRCLE SCARF CROCHET PATTERN

Materials:
(Click the links below to view & purchase the exact yarn & hook that I used to create my Sweet Stripes Circle Scarves!)

Worsted weight yarn (80-120 yds)

I used Red Heart Super Saver Stripes:
RHSS BonBon Print and Solids 
Yarn needle
Scissors

Pattern Key:
st(s) – stitch(es)
space – sp(s)
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet

yo – yarn over  FO – fasten off

 

Gauge:
7 dc x 4 rows = 2″ 

Go UP a hook size if you have More stitchesGo DOWN a hook size if you have Fewer stitches

 

Sizes: 
Toddler/Child Circle Scarf:  24″ around x 4.25″ tall
Toddler/Child Neck Warmer: 20″ around x 6″ tall
Teen/Adult Circle Scarf: 32” around x 6″ tall
Teen/Adult Neck Warmer: 24” around x 9″ tall

PATTERN DIRECTIONS:

TODDLER/CHILD CIRCLE SCARF:

  • Finished size should be approximately 24” around and 4.25” tall.
  • Use WW yarn (I used BonBon Print) and I 5.5 mm hook
  • Begin with ch 80 or 80 Fsc 
Begin with ch 80 (or 80 Fsc), sl st to beginning ch being careful not to twist ch.
Round 1(skip this round if you did Fsc) ch 1 (does not count as a st here & throughout), sc into each st around, sl st into 1st st (80 sc)
Round 2ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here & throughout), 3 dc in same, skip next 3 st, *4 dc in next, skip next 3 st,* 19 times, sl st into top ch of beg ch (80 dc)
Round 3ch 1, sc into each st around, sl st into 1st st (80 sc)
Round 4Repeat Round 2 (80 dc)
Round 5Repeat Round 3 (80 sc)

Rounds 6 – 11: Keep alternating Rounds 2 & 3, ending with Round 3 repeat. FO leaving a long tail and weave in ends. Enjoy!

TODDLER/CHILD NECK WARMER:

  • Finished size should be approximately 20” around and 6” tall.
  • Use WW yarn (I used Polo Stripes) and I 5.5 mm hook
  • Begin with ch 68 or 68 Fsc 
Begin with ch 68 (or 68 Fsc), sl st to beginning ch being careful not to twist ch.
Round 1(skip this round if you did Fsc) ch 1 (does not count as a st here & throughout), sc into each st around, sl st into 1st st (68 sc)
Round 2ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here & throughout), 3 dc in same, skip next 3 st, *4 dc in next, skip next 3 st,* 16 times, sl st into top ch of beg ch (68 dc)
Round 3ch 1, sc into each st around, sl st into 1st st (68 sc)
Round 4Repeat Round 2 (68 dc)
Round 5Repeat Round 3 (68 sc)

Rounds 6 – 15: Keep alternating Rounds 2 & 3, ending with Round 3 repeat. FO leaving a long tail and weave in ends. Enjoy!

  • Use WW yarn (I used Fruity Stripes) and I 5.5 mm hook
  • Begin with ch 100 or 100 Fsc 
Begin with ch 100 (or 100 Fsc), sl st to beginning ch being careful not to twist ch.
Round 1(skip this round if you did Fsc) ch 1 (does not count as a st here & throughout), sc into each st around, sl st into 1st st (100 sc)
Round 2ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here & throughout), 3 dc in same, skip next 3 st, *4 dc in next, skip next 3 st,* 24 times, sl st into top ch of beg ch (100 dc)
Round 3ch 1, sc into each st around, sl st into 1st st (100 sc)
Round 4Repeat Round 2 (100 dc)
Round 5Repeat Round 3 (100 sc)
