Sweet Stripes Plant Rugs

New FREE Crochet Pattern!

I am so excited to share my latest home decor crochet pattern with you! This one is for the plant babies in your life!  I had a blast designing the Sweet Stripes Plant Rugs Pattern just for them. Don’t do plants? My testers found lots of creative ways to use their plant mats and I know you can too! I hope y’all will find this pattern just as much fun to make and decorate your home too!

One of my favorite things in the world is my plants. I started my plant collection with an aloe vera and a spider plant, but I seem to collect more of them everywhere I can! Did you know you can order plants online and have them delivered to your home? Yep! Thanks coronavirus for teaching me a new and exciting way to get more plants!

Why do I love plants…? They make me happy, we love to exchange gases, and they forgive me when I forget to water then for a day or two… My succulent babies are especially forgiving! 😉  So I like to return the love by creating crochet patterns just for my plant babies! Last summer I created the Sweet Stripes Coasters pattern, which works beautifully as coasters/rugs for small plants! Then I created the Sweet Stripes Plant Cozy because my plants needed some sweaters! Now they get plant pot mats too. So if you love plants as much as I do, make sure to check those other patterns out too!

Quick and Easy Plant Coaster Pattern!

I love a quick crochet project, how about you? The Sweet Stripes Plant Mats consist of simple repeats that you will have finished in no time! They are pretty much the perfect project for working on while you enjoy your favorite audiobook or the latest movie on Amazon Prime! The pattern uses basic stitches a beginner can easily complete! Easy peasy!

If you’re not a crazy plant lady like me, then there are lots of other ways you can use your Sweet Stripes Plant Mats! The Mini Rug makes a perfect mug rug for your favorite cup of coffee or tea, with room leftover for an afternoon snack too! The Wide Mat makes a lovely placemat or accent to a side table or bookshelf! The Skinny Rug would make a lovely centerpiece for your dining room table or coffee table, along your fireplace mantle, or even a lovely way to store spare rolls on the back of the toilet! <– One of my awesome readers shared that last suggestion with me! I love how creative y’all are! ❤️

You can make your Sweet Stripes Plant Rugs in any colors to match your decor! A plant coaster paired with a new plant baby, or an artificial plant baby for those with a black thumb) would be an awesome Mother’s Day Gift, housewarming gift or a gift for any occasion!! You can also go the Mug Rug route and gift a new mug, some favorite coffee, a sweet treat, and of course a Sweet Stripes Mini/Mug Rug made by you! You would definitely win MY heart with either of those gifts! 😉
