Why You Need to Make the Calliope Crochet Coaster Pattern!
I don’t know about y’all, but I absolutely can’t stand when my drink leaves a ring behind on the table, so I always have a coaster on hand! 😆 I’ve got a confession: I’m a serial drink-spiller. I swear, I’m always one misplaced elbow away from a coffee catastrophe. That’s why I’m a firm believer in coasters. Anyone else out there with a questionable grip on their mug?
Not to mention, when you have a large family like mine, it’s so nice to have a whole SET of coasters, right? 😉 So with crochet Calliope Coasters to the rescue, we’ve got the table covered! WHEW!

Love to Crochet Coasters? Here’s even more!
Handmade coasters and mug rugs are versatile and make wonderful gifts. Pairing one with a handcrafted mug or a favorite tea creates a perfect self-care package, or Mother’s Day Gift!
I can personally vouch for the durability of crochet coaster patterns and crochet mug rugs I crafted years ago; they’re still going strong in my kitchen and at my crafting couch. Such as the Sweet Stripes Coasters, Sweet Stripes Plant Rugs (we like double duty patterns!) and most recently the Embrace the Elements Mug Rugs crochet pattern!
Tied with a rustic twine bow or a colorful ribbon, a stack of handmade coasters becomes an instant, heartfelt gift, ideal for welcoming someone to the neighborhood or celebrating a new mother figure.

What do the Calliope Coasters mean to me? They represent not only my love of color and colorful crochet, but also the versatility of this amazing craft! Even the name represents my love of art and history and bringing additional meaning to patterns by their names. Calliope was one of 9 Greek Muses, and the goddess of music, song, dance and epic poetry. The Calliope Instrument is one that is associated with carnivals and carousels in particular. So while the colorful presentation is a nod to the goddess, the wheel shape of this pattern is a nod to the music and colorful nature of carnivals where they often played. So there is a fun bit of history for you in relation to this pattern.
