Hello Crochet Friends! I am excited to bring you yet another Free Crochet Pattern, just in time for the Holidays! I had a lot of fun making and designing the Flora Dish Cloths Pattern! I hope y’all will find it useful and fun to make also! 🙂

I don’t know about y’all, but my favorite thing to wash dishes with is a crochet or knit dish cloth! Although, favorite and dishes are not words I typically put together… 😉 But, we’ve all got to do what we’ve got to do and dishes are a part of life. So with crochet Flora Dish Cloths to the rescue, we’ve got the dishes done!

Materials:

Pattern Key:
st(s) – stitch(es)
sp(s) – spaces
sk – skip
beg – beginning
ch(s) – chain(s)
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
fdc – foundation double crochet
inc – increase
v-st – v stitch (dc-ch 1-dc in same st)
puff st – see stitch tutorial below
yo – yarn over
FO – fasten off
Puff st: Yo, insert hook in st, yo and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yo and insert hook in same st, yo and pull up a loop (5 loops on hook), yo and insert hook in same st, yo and pull up a loop (7 loops on hook), yo and insert hook in same st, yo and pull up a loop (9 loops on hook), yo and pull through all 9 loops on hook, ch 1. Puff st complete.

Gauge:
Gauge is not very important for this pattern.
(My gauge was 6 dc x 3 dc rows = 2 inches).
NOTES:
1. This pattern uses a Foundation Double Crochet. If you need help with this technique you can follow this link to view my video tutorial for the Foundation Double Crochet and post about Foundation Crochet Stitches.
2. This pattern uses a Magic Circle. If you need help with this technique you can follow this link to view my video tutorial for the Magic Circle and post about Magic Circle Stitches.
3. Pattern directions between * and * should be repeated the number of times indicated for each round or row.
4. Beginning Chain (beg ch) and chain of each Puff st count as a stitch unless otherwise indicated.

FLORA ROUND CLOTH:
- Finished size should be approximately 8” across.
- Use Cotton WW yarn and H 5.0 mm hook.
Round 1: Make a magic circle. Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here and throughout), 11 dc in magic circle, sl st to join (12 dc).
Round 2: Ch 3, dc in join st, puff st, * dc inc in next st, puff st, * 5 times, sl st to join, (12 dc, 6 puff sts).
Round 3: Ch 3, dc in join st, dc in next st, * inc in next st, dc in next st, * 11 times, sl st to join, (36 dc).
Round 4: Ch 3, puff st, dc, * dc, puff st, dc, * 11 times, sl st to join, (24 dc, 12 puff sts).
Round 5: Ch 4 (counts as 1st dc and ch 1 of v-st) and dc in join st, ch 1, sk next st, * [v-st in next st, ch 1, sk next 2 sts,] twice, v-st in next st, ch 1, sk next st, * 6 times, sl st in 1st v-st to join, (18 v-st, 18 ch 1 sp).
Round 6: Ch 3, 2 dc in same v-st (3 dc-cluster), sc in ch 1 sp, * 3 dc-cluster in v-st, sc in ch 1 sp, * 17 times, sl st in top of beg ch 3 to join, (18 3-dc clusters/54 dc, 18 sc).
Round 7: Ch 1, sc in join st, puff st, sc, sl st, * sc, puff st, sc, sl st, * 17 times, sl st to join, (36 sc, 18 puff st, 18 sl st). FO and weave in ends.

FLORA SQUARE CLOTH:
- Finished size should be approximately 8” across.
- Use Cotton WW yarn and H 5.0 mm hook.
Row 1: Work 24 fdc, (24 fdc). Alternately you can ch 26, dc in 3rd ch from hook and each ch, (24 dc).
Row 2: Turn, ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here and throughout), puff st, * sk next st, dc, puff st, * 7 times, dc in last st, (9 dc, 8 puff sts).
Row 3: Turn, ch 1 (does not count as st), sc in same sp, sk next st, v-st, * sk next st, sc, sk next st, v-st, * 5 times, sc in last st, (6 v-st, 7 sc).
Row 4: Turn, ch 1, sk sc, * sk dc, 3 dc in ch 1 sp, sk dc, sc in next, * 6 times, (6 sc, 18 dc).
Row 5: Turn, ch 1, * sk sc, dc, puff st, dc, * 6 times, (12 dc, 6 puff sts).
Rows 6-8: Repeat Rows 3-5.
Rows 9-11: Repeat Rows 3-5.
Rows 12-14: Repeat Rows 3-5.
Row 15: Ch 3, dc in each st across, (24 dc). FO and weave in ends or continue with the Optional Edging to complete your cloth.
Optional Edging: Turn, ch 1, * 3 hdc in next st, sk next st, sl st in next st, * 8 times across top, turn and work same repeat 8 times evenly spaced down side, work 8 times along bottom, and 8 times evenly spaced up final side, sl st to join. FO and weave in the ends.

I believe you have a mistake on the second row of your floral round dishcloth. I believe it should read two double crochet in next stitch and the puff stitch. I order to have 12 double crochets and six puff stitches.

Thanks for stopping by and reaching out! You are correct that 2 dcs and a puff stitch is the repeat needed for Round 2. My wording for this step was ” dc inc (increase)” meaning 2 dc in that stitch may have caused confusion.
