I had a blast designing the Hopscotch Can and Bottle Cozy Pattern just for them, but you can and should make one for yourself too! Beer Bottle Cozy Crochet Pattern
I love a quick crochet project that’s perfect for last-minute gifting, how about you? I designed this pattern with all the guys in mind – especially my own hubby! This is a great pattern to bookmark for all the significant events, like Father’s Day, Christmas and your man’s birthday! You can also make can cozies throughout the year using leftover scrap yarn. They’re handy to have stashed for last-minute gifting.

What I also love about this pattern is that it’s a bottle or can cozy with a bottom circle base! I hate condensation because our patio table is glass, but love a nice cold drink outside in the summer. Well the lovely and absorbent bottom of this crocheted koozie eliminates that problem. Hopefully your favorite guy will agree! - HOOK: US F/5 3.75 mm
- Yarn Needle, Scissors
Finished Sizes: (laid flat)
BOTTLE: 2.5″ diameter x 6″ long
SKINNY CAN: 2.5″ diameter x 5″ long
CLASSIC CAN: 2.75″ diameter x 4.5” long
Gauge: 17 dc x 10 rows = 4” x 4”

Extended Single Crochet (esc): Insert hook in next st, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull through 1st loop on the hook, yo and pull through both loops on the hook. VIDEO: https://youtu.be/gp41JNKAcg4
Extended Single Crochet Decrease (esc2tog): Insert hook in next st, yo and pull up a loop, insert hook in next st, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull through 1st 2 loops on the hook, yo and pull through next 2 loops on the hook. Esc2tog completed!
Crochet Magic Circle Tutorial:

STEP 1: Create a loop with yarn, place hook through the loop, yo and pull the yarn through the loop, keeping the loop open in a circle instead of pulling the yarn tight.
STEP 2: Ch 1, insert hook back in circle, yo and pull up a loop through the circle.
STEP 3: Yo again and pull through the 2 loops on the hook, 1 sc completed! Repeat Step 2 to create additional stitches. Hold stitches with one hand, gently pull the yarn end with the other hand to close the circle.
NOTES:
- Read through the entire pattern first.
- Beginning chain does count as a stitch on xdc rounds only.
- Place the 1st stitch of sc and esc rows in the same stitch as ch 1.
- Sl st does count as a stitch on final rounds only.
- Repeat stitches between [ and ] the number of times indicated.
- Pattern is worked in joined rounds.
- Bottle pattern is worked in rows after Round 18 to form the larger opening/ “v-neck” for the bottle.
- Classic Can fits standard 12 oz cans, Skinny Can fits slim 12 oz cans, Bottle fits standard 12 oz bottles.

- Finished size 2.5″ diameter x 5″ long.

Round 1: Make a Magic Circle. Ch 1, 8 esc in Magic Circle, sl st to join, (8 esc).
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 esc in each st around, sl st to join, (16 esc).
Round 3: Ch 1, [esc, 2 esc in next st,] 8 times, sl st to join, (24 esc).
Round 4: Ch 1, [esc in next 3 sts, 2 esc in next st,] 6 times, sl st to join, (30 esc).
Round 5: Work in BLO this round only. Ch 1, esc in each st around, sl st to join, (30 esc).
Round 6: Ch 1, esc in each st around, sl st to join, (30 esc).
Round 7: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here and throughout), dc in last st of previous round (xdc formed), 14 xdc around, sl st in top of beginning ch-3 to join, (15 xdc).

Round 3: Ch 1, [esc, 2 esc in next st,] 8 times, sl st to join, (24 esc).

Round 5: Work in BLO this round only. Ch 1, esc in each st around, sl st to join, (32 esc).

You will now begin working in unjoined rows to finish the cozy and leave a larger opening at the top to accommodate the bottle.
Row 19: Ch 2, dc in next st (counts as dc2tog here and throughout), 14 xdc, dc2tog, do not join, turn, (2 dc, 14 xdc).
Row 20: Ch 1, esc2tog, [esc in next 7 sts, esc2tog,] 2 times, esc in next 8 sts, esc2tog, turn, (26 esc).
Row 21: Ch 1, esc2tog, esc in next 22 sts, esc2tog, turn, (24 esc).
Row 22: Ch 2, dc in next st (counts as dc2tog here and throughout), 10 xdc, dc2tog, do not join, turn, (2 dc, 10 xdc).
Row 23: Ch 1, [esc2tog, esc in next 2 sts,] 5 times, esc2tog, turn, (16 esc).
Row 24: Ch 1, [sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts,] 4 times, turn, (12 sc).
Round 25: Ch 1, sc in each next 12 sts, rotate, working down and back up the opening, place 16 sc evenly spaced, sl st to join, (28 sc). FO and weave in ends.
If you find the opening at the top is stretching too much, you can add a round of sl sts after R26, (28 sl st).
