Leprechaun Crochet Baby Hat Features

This sweet and tiny Leprechaun Crochet Baby Hat is quick and easy to make! I can’t think of a sweeter baby shower gift, and once baby outgrows the hat it would make adorable nursery decor or a fun addition to a commemorative shadow box! This little hat is just so much fun to make, I hope you enjoy making your own hat as much as I enjoyed creating the pattern!

I think it would be a really fun prop for your home too! I cut a small circle of cardboard to place in the top of the hat for my photos to keep it flat, and placed it over a pint size mason jar! 🙈 Oops! My secret is out! 😉  And while we are talking multi-purposing – how about making a pair of barrettes by hot glueing the little shamrocks to a pair of alligator clips? I did this and they’re adorable! You could also string a bunch of shamrocks together to form a garland! You can even used a larger weight yarn to easily size them up! 🍀

Love Pinterest? Me too! Don’t forget to pin the pattern for later!! You can save from my pin boards here and follow me on Pinterest too for more gorgeous crochet patterns and helpful crochet tutorials, and lots more!

Quick and Easy Newborn Hat Pattern!

I love a quick crochet project, how about you? This little hat works up in about an hour, and utilizes simple stitches and repeats! You can easily make a hat or 2 while watching your favorite film or series on Netflix or Amazon Prime! I’m currently watching Call the Midwife. I love the look into the era in which my parents were born and grew up in, as well as seeing how medicine has advanced and stayed the same from then to now! It’s entertaining and sweet, but I can still crochet while watching it and not lose myself in the show which is a plus! 😉

Don’t crochet? Send me a message through my Contact Page or through my Etsy shop here! I would love to create a Newborn Leprechaun Hat just for you! Need some help with the stitches? I provide photo and video tutorials within the pattern to help you with the included techniques and more! I am always happy to help you with any questions you may have! Don’t crochet yet? CROCHETING IN 3RD LOOP:

STEP 1:The 3rd loop is found on the wrong side, just below the working loops or 1st and 2nd loop of an hdc. Turn the working (1st & 2nd) loops toward you, then a little further so you can see the wrong side of the last row.

STEP 2:Find the loop just past the 2nd loop, this is the 3rd loop you will be working your stitches into. Work your stitches just as you would in the 1st and 2nd loops.

STEP 3:Hdc in the 3rd loop is pictured below. You will end up with a ridge on the right side of your work, formed by the 1st and 2nd loops.
