Potion of Moonlight Bottle
Magic Crochet Dice Bag Pattern!
What is your favorite holiday? *Please say Halloween!!* I love the magick, mysterious, and fun of All Hallows Eve, so I knew I had to make a pattern perfect for my fave holiday. The Potion of Moonlight Bottle is not only designed to help you create that perfect spooky apothecary look in October or year round, but can also be used as a dice storage bottle too. Because that’s how we roll around here… 🎲 yes with the puns! I hope y’all love this potion bottle dice bag pattern, as much as I do! 🧙♀️

Easy Potion Bottle Dice Bag Pattern
I had so much fun designing this crochet dice bag amigurumi pattern, and setting up a Halloween vibe for photos! I kind of want to design nothing but Halloween Patterns. There will definitely be many more in the future, since we need the full apothecary setup! The best part is that this advanced beginner-friendly pattern is quite easy to make with simple stitches and repeats, and not much sewing or shaping other than basic decreases is needed. These bottles make a great pattern to try amigurumi for the first time, or to practice your skills like yarn under single crochet and invisible (front loop only) single crochet decreases.
These bottles are so much fun to use to decorate your home for Halloween, and you can make them in any colors you like! I used Halloween colors, but you may find your favorite gamer would love to see a blue or red potion to represent health and mana, or make some fun wizarding world potions for your favorite Harry Potter, Outlander or Game of Thrones fan!
Of course, we can’t forget the sets of dice… If you play RPGs (role playing games) or know someone who does, I assure you one of these potion bottles would be highly prized as a new and amazing dice storage bottle, especially if their character is a wizard, cleric or elf! The Small Phial was designed to fit the standard set of 7 dice, while the Medium Potion Vial and Large Potion Bottle will hold a great number of dice easily! You could also use the bottles to hold any other small items you like, you’re only limited by your imagination. 🧪

Crochet a Potion Bottle Amigurumi
This amigurumi potion bottle and dice bag crochet pattern is perfect for an advanced beginner and beyond, who is ready to tackle simple amigurumi, a bit of shaping, and a small amount of sewing! So, a little higher
Here’s what you need to get started: 150 – 250 yards of Paintbox Cotton Aran or your choice of worsted/aran weight 4 yarn in several colors for the potion, glass, cork, and optional moon and spider appliqués. This can easily use scrap yarn for the smaller parts of the bottle and is a great way to give new life to the ends of skeins you have lying around, or those bits of yarn that weren’t enough to make anything else with. You will need a US G/6 4.0 mm hook ← I highly recommend this gorgeous beauty! My 100% go to hooks for amigurumi are Furls Streamline Hooks, I loved using mine to create these amazing crocheted dice bottles! You will need a small amount of stuffing for the cork, or a larger amount if you plan to stuff the bottles too.
Below are the yarns I used to create my samples! For this project I used Paintbox Cotton Aran in Pansy Purple, Lime Green, and Blood Orange for the potions. I used Vanilla Cream for the glass, and Soft Fudge for the cork. Plus a small amount of Daffodil Yellow for the moon and Jet Black for the spider. I absolutely love how they all turned out. 😍 I think you will have a LOT of fun choosing your colors for this project.
