Happy Crochet Day! I am excited to bring you another Free Crochet Pattern, from my adorable Sweet Stripes line! It was a lot fun to design (and test out 🍷) the Sweet Stripes Wine Cozy Pattern! I hope y’all will find it just as fun to make and use too! Cheers! 🙂
I don’t know about y’all, but I absolutely love a decorative wine glass! I confess that in addition to designing wine glass cozies, I have been having a lot of fun playing with my cricut maker and planning out some vinyl on wine glasses too! 🙂 We’ve got to have our fun, right? I am mostly a red wine girl, but in the summer I love a chilled glass of white and having a cozy to absorb the condensation makes it even more lovely on a hot summer evening! So with crochet Sweet Stripes Wine Cozy to the rescue, we’ve got the wine covered and Mom’s sanity intact!

Quick and Easy to make Wine Cozy in 2 sizes!
The Sweet Stripes Wine Cozy can be made for a Medium 16 ounce glass or a Large 19 ounce glass, so however you enjoy your wine, you’re covered! The cozies are designed to fit most stemless wine glasses. I do recommend trying it on your glass as you go, so you can make any adjustments if needed for a perfect fit! As an added bonus, the 16 ounce cozies are a perfect fit for pint size mason jars too!
These cozies are super quick and fun to make! They take me less than 20 minutes each!! They make great gifts, I like to give them in sets of 4 or 6, wrapped in a pretty ribbon! Enhance your gift with a set of glasses or even better a bottle of wine! Thank your favorite Teacher, Hairdresser, or surprise your BFF for her birthday with a cute and useful handmade gift!! Don’t forget to make a set for yourself too!
Since these work up quickly, the Sweet Stripes Wine Cozy is sure to be a big seller at your markets and craft shows too! They are easy to ship too if you’re doing your markets online or selling on Etsy. It’s always good to have a stock of quick and easy projects you can sell for a lower price point!

SWEET STRIPES WINE COZY PATTERN
Materials:

Pattern Key:
st(s) – stitch(es)
sp(s) – spaces
ch(s) – chain(s)
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
yo – yarn over
FO – fasten off
Gauge:
7 hdc x 5 rows = 2″ square
Sizing:
16 ounce: 5” across x 4.5” tall
19 ounce: 5.5” across x 5” tall
NOTES:
1. This pattern uses a Magic Circle. If you need help with this technique you can follow this link to view my video tutorial for the Magic Circle and post about Magic Circle Stitches.
2. Beginning chain does count as a stitch on dc rounds, but does not count on sc rounds throughout the pattern.
3. Sl st does not count as a stitch unless otherwise noted.
4. Repeat stitches between [ and ] the number of times indicated.
5. 16 oz size cozy can be used for pint size mason jars too!

Pattern Directions:
USING H/8 5.0 MM HOOK
16 ounce Glass/Mason Jar:
Round 1: Make a Magic Circle, ch 1, 8 sc into magic circle, (8 sc).
Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here and throughout) and work 3 dc in same st, skip next st, [4 dc in next st, skip next st,] 3 times, sl st to top of beginning ch 3 to join, (16 dc).
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same st, 2 sc in next st, [sc, 2 sc in next st,] 7 times, sl st to join, (24 sc).
Round 4: Ch 3, and work 3 dc in same st, skip next 2 sts, [4 dc in next st, skip next 2 sts,] 8 times, sl st to top ch of beginning ch 3 to join, (32 dc).
Round 5: Ch 1, sc in same and next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, [sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st,] 8 times, sl st to join, (40 sc).
Round 6: Ch 3, and work 3 dc in same st, skip next 4 sts, [4 dc in next st, skip next 4 sts,] 7 times, sl st to top ch of beginning ch 3 to join, (32 dc).
Rounds 7-10: Repeat Rounds 5 and 6, alternating, twice ending with a Round 6 repeat, (4 rounds).
Round 11: Ch 1, sc in each st around, sl st to join, (32 sc).
Round 12: Ch 3, and work 3 dc in same st, skip next 3 sts, [4 dc in next st, skip next 3 sts,] 8 times, sl st to top ch of beginning ch 3 to join, (32 dc).
Round 13: Sl st very loosely in each st around, (32 sl st). FO and weave in ends. Pop in your wine glass, pour yourself a hard earned glass of wine, and enjoy! Cheers friends!
