Do you like to be cozy!?! Then I have the perfect Fall and Winter Crochet Pattern for you! The Fly Away Super Scarf will envelop you in coziness! One of my testers said that she never wanted to take her scarf off, and I have to agree! This is really fun project c2c technique and simple color blocks! I just know y’all are going to love this pattern as much as I do too! 🙂

Super Scarf Features
I don’t know about y’all, but I live in Minnesota and the winters are bitter cold here! Admittedly, I get cold year round when the a/c in on so I love a cozy pattern! I fell in love with the over the top super scarf style when I first saw Lenny Kravitz sporting his amazing version a few years ago. So this scarf is named after one of his most well known songs, in honor of his inspiration for my pattern creation! This cozy scarf is super sized and will take you some time to make, but the repeats are easy super easy once you have the hang of c2c, so you can totally watch your favorite show or movie series and crank this beauty out!! I kinda feel like that’s the best/only way to make a crochet project, at least in 2020, ya know?!? 😉
The Fly Away Super Scarf works up beautifully with Loops & Threads Charisma Bulky yarn! You can easily substitute another bulky yarn like: Lion Brand Color Made Easy or Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky! It takes about 1oo0 yards for the scarf – I used 550 yards of Pink and 440 yards of brown to create my Super Scarf. Because c2c is considered an intermediate technique, I have rated the pattern intermediate, but I think an advanced beginner could definitely be successful with the pattern, and learn a new stitch technique in the process! Woohoo! 🧶

Make a Super Scarf!
This scarf pattern is perfect for intermediate level crocheters and the confident advanced beginner who has mastered the c2c technique. The pattern uses inc, dec, and step c2c blocks and that’s it. The colors are blocked, so the changes are infrequent and easy to manage. You end up with a simple two color crochet scarf, that looks absolutely fabulous! This is a really fun and rewarding project – I had so much fun crocheting and wearing my Fly Away Super Scarf y’all! All you need to get started is 1000 yards of Bulky (5) yarn and a N/13 9.0 mm hook! <– I highly recommend my new FAVORITE hook! 😍
I used Charisma bulky yarn in Blush and Pecan from Michaels to create my scarf. I had a request for a yarn substitute recommedation, so I’m adding a link to Red Heart Hygge below as this yarn is equally soft and squishy and the colors are almost identical! yay!!

Hi Lisa,
I love the look of this scarf, but I live in the Northwestern part of Louisiana & we don’t normally get the winters that yall do. You mentioned that this scarf can be made in worsted weight, did you make a pattern using that?
Hi Jennifer!
I wrote the pattern for Bulky/Chunky weight 5 yarn, however you can easily adjust the sizing to suite your taste, and likewise you can simple change your yarn and hook size if you prefer or in your case need a lighter weight scarf! I would recommend using a J/10 6.0mm hook with worsted weight for this scarf. You can work it as written, with the smaller yarn and hook!
Thanks for visiting and reaching out!
