Pop of Color Book Sleeve Pattern

Crochet Along and FREE Crochet Pattern!

My goal was to create a pattern for our Summer Crochet Along that was as fun to make as the Summer Fun Tote Baskets, TWO Summers ago! I think I nailed it – let me know if you agree! TBH, y’all have made our previous Crochet Alongs so amazing, I couldn’t wait to create another new CAL for you! The POP OF COLOR BOOK COVERS are really fun and simple to work up, and are crazy versatile with how you can use them!! I just know you’re going to love this pattern and these easy crochet book sleeves, as much as I do! With their simple button closure, you can use these gorgeous pouches to hold all sorts of things! Obviously they’re fantastic to house and protect your books, ipads, phones, bible, journals and other books and electronics. However, they also make great seperators so that things don’t get lost in your bags! Use them as a makeup bag or pencil case, or my favorite – to store and carry along your crochet supplies!! Come crochet along with a group of like-minded crocheters, and let’s make a Pop of Color Crochet Book Sleeve!

Button Book Cover Crochet Pattern!

What do you get when you combine a love for books and a passion for crochet? You get a Pop of Color Crochet Book Sleeve! Where has this been all my life??? What’s not to love? You have the protection of a sturdy sleeve, the personalization of choosing your own colors, and it works up so quick with basic stitches! The book sleeve is the perfect size to hold your latest read and makes your protected tome, easy to grab from your tote bag.

You may or may not know that one of my fave things is adding a handmade touch to everyday items. So we just took that a step further and made a crochet book sleeve, and I assure you as I was designing the shape and size of these, I was 100% thinking, “Will this make my reading experience even better?” You can absolutely customize it to make it your own, in fact, how about a pocket? NO ONE can stop you, and I would encourage you to do so! I’m an enabler like that!!

Even More Crochet Book Sleeve Patterns!

So which one do YOU love best – crocheting for practicality or for personalization? No, you don’t really have to choose. 😅 I couldn’t! If you love one or the other, or most likely both, then you will want to check out my other patterns! Because this list is ahem loooong at this point in time, I’m only going to include the ones that can also double as gifts or add a pop of color to your life. Let’s start with some colorful options!

Without further ado, here are my favorite patterns that can add a pop of color to your life or make great bookish gifts! I have TWO more crochet book cover patterns that you might want to try? They both come in THREE SIZES each! And they use my own clever stitch patterns which produce a beautiful, textured fabric that’s great for protecting your books and devices! The Hopscotch Tablet and Book Sleeve Pattern and the Sweet Stripes Book Sleeve Pattern! I might sneak this one in here too, because it’s Oh So Handy and practical.. and I’ve made a beginner-frienldy tutorial! The Sweet Stripes Zipper Pouches Pattern – there’s an additional tutorial included to teach you how to insert a hand-sewn zipper! And finally, we can’t forget about the stunning Pop of Color Basket Pattern – this beauty is perfect for holding yarn or adding a pop of color to your home!

So if you are as obsessed with crochet and color as much as I am, make sure to check those other patterns out too! Obviously, after you’ve made THIS one.

Pop of Color Book Sleeve Crochet Pattern!

One of my favorite things about the Pop of Color Crochet Book Sleeve Pattern is that these sleeves are really quick to make! Simple stitches and colorful yarn really make for a quick and satisfying project! Once you’ve got the skills from the Crochet-a-long, you can make one in an evening or two, and you’ll have plenty of time to personalize it your own way! The free pattern is easy to follow, so this colorful book sleeve will be done before you know it! With 3 weeks to complete your CAL, you will have no trouble crocheting a book sleeve (or two, or three!) to protect all your favorite reads! What, doesn’t everyone have a stack of books waiting to be read? These modern crochet covers, are perfect for adding a pop of color to your bag, protecting your books on the go, and even make fantastic gifts! How will you use your Pop of Color Book Sleeve?

How does your crocheting time change in the summer? Normally, I love to listen to an audiobook while I crochet, or watch the latest movie on Amazon PrimeBut with the kids home during the summer I often find myself crocheting outdoors, while they swim and play. Little ones need that fresh air and exercise, and I suppose I should occasionally exercise something other than my wrists too, HBU? 😎 TBH, I think one of my favorite things about crocheting is that you can pick up your project and take it anywhere with you!!

Need some help with the stitches? I provide photo tutorials within the pattern to help you with the included techniques and more! I am always happy to help you with any questions you may have! Don’t crochet yet? I’d love to help you Learn to Crochet with my fun Crochet Tutorials!
